Moritz, Chris Morgan, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson. The sixth installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise. It stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson & Michelle Rodriguez with Jordana Brewster returning from the previous three installments of the franchise as well as Jason Statham making his series debut. The film also marks the feature film debut of Gal Gadot. The Fast and the Furious 6 is the first film in the series to be released by Universal Pictures since it acquired rights to the franchise.[4] It is also the first installment of the franchise to be released in IMAX. Fast & Furious 6 will be followed up by Fast & Furious 7, which is scheduled for release on April 10, 2015. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson (who entered as a late-stage replacement for Diesel while he was busy filming Riddick) return as Dominic Toretto, Brian O'Conner and Luke Hobbs respectively. This is the final film to feature Walker, who died in a single-vehicle crash on November 30, 2013. In the opening of the movie, fugitive ex-convict and professional criminal Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) breaks Dom's brother, Owen (Luke Evans), out of a Turkish prison. As they make their escape in Istanbul, they cause a huge amount of destruction and chaos, including crashing a tank into a helicopter and plummeting it to the ground. Shaw is injured when a piece of the destroyed chopper pierces his abdomen. After being caught up in an attack by Agent Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), Shaw is taken into custody by Hobbs' associate, Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson). Hobbs is informed that Deckard's brother, Han (Sung Kang), has been a prisoner of the Turkish government for a long time and is about to be released. In the meantime, Dom and Brian have made their way to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After being accepted into an underground street race by Zizi (Nathalie Emmanuel), a former member of Brian's former crew, Dom gets his hands on a car that he believes can help him get revenge against Shaw for what he did to Owen. In Rio, Brian receives a call from Dominic Toretto concerning Owen's release from prison. Brian meets up with his old crew (Gisele, Owen and Roman (Tyrese Gibson)) and they begin planning an operation to rescue Dom. Dom, however, chooses to go it alone and he tricks Han into tracking him down. After a high-speed chase through Rio's favelas and atop Sugarloaf Mountain, Shaw and Han end up in a plane crash. Shaw survives the crash and survives on the streets for a while before he is finally captured by Hobbs' team, who apprehend Shaw before he can escape from custody through an underground tunnel system. In this time frame, Brian reconsiders his future as a street racer after his accident at the film's start.
